Dear Student / Parents / Guardians CORONAVIRUS CLOSURE - H/O Announcement It is with sadness that due to the Coronavirus Crisis we will no longer be running any of our regular classes from our locations from Monday 23rd March for a period of time, some of you may have recently heard from your Instructor directly as their locations are closed already. This is an overwhelming blow to us as a small business and one which we graciously ask that you can adapt to. CORONAVIRUS UPDATE Throughout these uncertain times the senior instructors at Fortitude have been videoing content for our online training, which will be to support our students during this crisis. Day by day things are changing and we are adapting within the guidelines set out by the government. Therefore where we are able to teach, our classes are still on. Some Fortitude schools are closing due to hall hire cancellations and this is an overwhelming blow to these instructors and their small business, so we graciously ask that you will adapt where possible to our online service. The initial answer is simple; it's a test of your ability in that it highlights if your training endeavours are working or if you may need to push harder. But? What about (inter club) in-house competitions? There needs to be a slightly different approach to these. Not all competitors will have been training for the accolade of a gold medal, some students recognise the opportunity as a safe way to challenge themselves. Seminar with Senior Master Sahota - 7th April 2018 - 2pm till 6pm - Kings Leisure Centre, East Grinstead Senior Master Sahota Started training in Taekwon-do in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire in the summer of 1973, whilst waiting for his CSE Secondary School exam results. At that time the UKTA School was run by Mr Bill McCracken and Mr Bob Howe. When he received his CSE results as the Star Pupil of Park Boys Secondary School, he decided to take on further education in the field of Electronics as an Engineer. Winter Competition 2017 Sackville School, Lewes Road, East Grinstead, West Sussex, RH19 3TY Sunday 5th November REGISTRATION Sunday • 8.30 am for White to Green Stripe Belt Junior Students (5-12 years) • 11.00 am for Green to Black Belt Junior Students (5-12 years) • 2.00 pm for all Belts (13-17 years and Adults ONLY) ALL JUNIOR STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE A FORTITUDE MEDAL FOR PARTICIPATIONThere is a consolation round for sparring only, so where possible all students will have at least 2 goes at sparring. After a busy summer the September Pre-Grading was here before we knew it! We thought that the March Pre-Grading was our biggest, but we were so impressed to see almost 80 Fortitude Students coming to train and pregrade. We had over 50 students pre-grading for Black Belt and above on Sunday 17th September. Students were rigorously put through their paces, going over each pattern from Chon-Ji through to Choong Moo, nine patterns in total and Black Belts practiced up to nine further patterns dependant on their Dan...
